The purpose of this personal site;

  I know....my pictures look a little unsmiling. Please be assured that I love humor and 
  laughter and yuk it up just like anyone else. I'll have to take some smiley photos.

  Some time ago it was brought to my attention that the effort I put into introducing myself using
  these personal web pages could be misinterpreted. It may appear to a visitor that I'm
  a somewhat self indulgent soul. And while that may be the case to a very minor degree, I offer
  the years of this regular, normal guy just as he comes to you, written in a way
  that is both entertaining to me and perhaps and hopefully interesting to a visitor.
  It's just the honest life of an American guy. It took me a little while to learn how
  to use website tools, and more importantly, this web space is packaged and sold to
  me as a part of my ISP contract. So rather than just let it go unused, I populate these pages
  to ruminate about things that have proven constant in my life. Nothing more complex than that.

  If you're the critical type, or in any way see egomania, selfishness, need to proselytize, 
  geekiness, or some other unhealthy departure from what these pages really are...a personal snapshot 
  of a "middle aged" regular joe, no point in sticking around and making yourself crazy.
