First up for the wing structure is the rear spar preparation. Here the parts have been primed and are ready for assembly. Many of the rivets will wait for assembly later with other parts.

Here is the outboard end of the rear spar showing the doubler plate installed. The countersunk rivets attach the end rib and are underneath the outer aileron bracket.

Again, the middle doubler plate only gets attached with a few rivets at this point. The remainder will go in with the ribs, aileron gap seal, and flap brace. The odd shaped hole is for the aileron pushrod.

Here is the inboard end of the rear spar with two layers of doublers. The rear spars are complete at this point.

Now, I turn to all the countersinks that need to go in the main spar. I elected to buy the correct size countersink rather than using the threads of the nutplates as called for in the manual. I backed up the spar with a thick piece of aluminum with the proper hole in it, and clamped that to the spar. This keeps the countersink aligned since these are rather deep.

Here is the spar with the nutplates installed for all the access covers as well as the tank attach screws. The primer is close in color to the anodized spar and looks pretty good.

The new style tiedown brackets are complete in this picture. The nutplates attach the aileron bellcrank from the other side of the spar. The end hole is threaded for a 3/8" tiedown ring.
