One 6 ounce layer in place with the 6 ounce abrasion patch. I put on a sealer coat of epoxy first. I installed both the cloth and the patch at the same time. No problem at all!!

I suggest that you use a bubble roller to help in this process. It really help push the cloth to the wood and helps in the wet-out process.

The 9 ounce tape is stuck to the almost cured epoxy from the initial lay-up.

It look bad but it sands out really easy!!

this is a view of the edge of the abrasion patch.

Note the threads that are hanging in the epoxy (no problem).

Close up of the tape. The tape I used was not bias cut. This proved to be a real pain in the arss. It is hard to see, but I had to cut the tape in places to get it to conform.

In the end it is barely noticeable.

Left side is sanded out with 60 grit (orbital) while the right side is just waiting for the same.

I applied two more fill coats after this.

NOTE: Be careful when sanding. It is hard to see how deep you are going. If you sand into the weave too far it will show, even after fill coats.

I found that 150 grit hand sanding worked great after at least 36 hour. Any sooner and it just gums up the paper.
