Evidence for Action:  The case against Islamic terrorism.
10/6/01

In building a case for strong U.S. action against the forces of Islamic terrorism, it is critical to examine the evidence before us.  In general, those who call for “restraint” or “peaceful solutions” and who are NOT active subversives or fifth columnists, are usually of good intention but are unfamiliar with the facts or lack a historical understanding and perspective.

In an attempt to clarify the need for an effective, global, and massive campaign against the current threat to world peace, we will analyze the evidence before us here.

It is important to remember, this factually supported opinion is not leveled against the religion of Islam in the abstract – but against the contemporary manifestation of CULTURAL Islam in the world today.  Fanatical Japanese fascism was, to a large extent, a CULTURAL manifestation of Japanese religious beliefs. The emperor was considered a living descendant of the Sun god.  He was worshiped as a minor deity.  Kamikaze means "divine" wind and Japanese soldiers where inculcated into a warrior religion which assured them of the divine and natural superiority of the Japanese people.  When they "sacrificed themselves" in the name of the Emperor and Yamato (The sacred name for the home island of Japan, a pseudo-living entity) they were assured a one-way ticket straight to paradise.  Similarly, Nazism was an aberrant, perverted, cult-like version of Christianity.

Moving back to cultural Islam, let us break down the available evidence into its component parts.

NOTE:  The sheer volume of material covering this subject makes it impossible to list each and every point.  I am, therefore, restricted to offering representative examples of the whole.

ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE:  Admittedly the least reliable evidence available, it nonetheless gives us a quick read on the pulse of the more vocal and ubiquitous members of this culture.  The airwaves are full of individual commentary, riots, demonstrations and interviews.

It is all bad.

The insight we gain is that of a PEOPLE (not individuals) mobilized on multiple levels, declaring their feelings and intentions toward the current state of worlds affairs and the existence of America.

In the same way as Kristallnacht in 1938 exposed the future of German/Jewish relations, so too does the violent expressions of Islamic communities over 20 years serve as a warning to Americans about the approaching storm.

EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE:  The evidence here is observed and represents an analysis of numerous actual actions and events which preceded September 11, 2001.  This evidence includes, but is not limited to;

  • Terrorist attacks on civilians and military personnel too numerous to mention here.  Entebbe, Beirut, London, Tel-Aviv, NYC (the first bombing), Lockerbe, Tanzania, the U.S.S. Cole - the list is long and bloody, and illustrates, quite clearly the intentions of the enemy.
  • Isolating one particular group from those who masterminded the above atrocities, we can examine the handiwork of Osama bin laden and  Al-Quada directly.
    • 1993 – WTC bombing:  6 dead, 1000 wounded
    • 1995 – Bombing of U.S. forces in Riyadh – 5 dead U.S.
    • 1998 – U.S. Air Force housing, King Abdul Aziz airport Dharan – 19 dead service men, 300 injured.
    • August 7 1998 Bombing of U.S. embassies in Nairobi, & Tanzania - 200 dead.
    • October 2000  - USS Cole – 17 dead sailors, 39 wounded
    • September 11, 2001 - The attacks of the WTC and Pentagon - over 5000 dead.
  • It is critical to realize that these events are NOT "isolated acts" perpetrated by "madmen", they are the state sanctioned projection of military power by an enemy who maximizes his resources while simultaneously exploiting the enemies weaknesses.
  • These shadow armies do NOT operate in a vacuum.  They require popular support, financial backing, and government succor.  Hamas and Islamic Jihad would not last a week without the tacit backing of the government and the POPULAR approval and support of the communities they operate from. Partisans, by definition, operate as covert and guerrilla expressions of the popular will (see the French resistance, Viet Mihn, the Minutemen of our revolution).
  • On a larger scale, we can observe the Saddam Hussein regime in Iraq which launched a massive conventional war against an Islamic neighbor, but who's GOAL was imperialism to strengthen a power base for operations against the west.  The nuclear arsenal Saddam is attempting to develop is NOT for use against Kuwait, I assure you.
  • On the political front, we can observe, today, the double dealing of the Saudi's in the deliberate subterfuge they are practicing against their own people.  Although desperate to prove allegiance to us, they are waging a campaign of propaganda (for domestic consumption only) assuring the people that they will NOT cooperate with us.  Why?  Because they realize that the overwhelming majority of the PEOPLE of Saudi Arabia hate America and what we stand for and would never support our efforts.  The exact same situation is taking place in Pakistan.  The PEOPLE despise us, openly call for our destruction, and will fight any aid we are given.
  • We have the words on men like Mustafa Saied, an ex-member of radical University Campus Muslim organizations.  An American Muslim who presents us with insiders view of the attitudes and pulse  of Muslim America - "[Ridicule and Suspicion] - Anti-Americanism takes many forms, from a general suspicion of all things non-Muslim to the ridicule of American values and culture, to, in the most extreme cases, outright statements of hatred couched in the language of religion."

In countering claims from many Muslim American's and their defenders, that Islamic American's love their adopted country as much as any American, Saied retorts  "I still fail to see how patriotism is in any way condoned, inculcated or preserved in the minds of our children."   Saied lists example after example and brings to task his fellow Muslim Americans for their tolerance of hate speech in their mosques, their hypocrisy in despising the symbolism of America while carrying one of its greatest (a passport) in their wallets, and their lack of condemnation of terrorism and support for America in general.

The overall picture he paints is one where, at best, the majority of Islamic America is apathetic about the U.S.  At worst, they despise it and openly call for acts of violence and destruction.
  • Finally, we have actual poll data. There are several out right now, and they all bear out the same nauseating facts.  One proves that less than 9% of Muslims sampled all across the world support ANY action against the Taliban or Bin Laden.  The Islamic world is telling us that no matter what else the Taliban and Bin Laden are, they are "Muslim" first.

OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE:  in this area, I will limit the evidence to the words and actions of the leaders and governments of the Islamic world.

  • Ayatollah Khomenei, Abu Nidal, Mommar Quaddafi, Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, Yasir Arrafat, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin-Laden. These represent a few of the Official Heads of State and popularly supported partisans who openly, loudly, and prolifically call for the deaths of Americans on a global scale.  Several of them are actively pursuing biological and nuclear arsenals which they have OPENLY promised to utilize against the "great Satan".
  • Abdurahaman Alamoudi and Muzzammil Siddiqi, - two POPULARLY SUPPORTED leaders of Islam right here in America who have publicly called on Muslim Americans to support Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad in their war against the United States.  They did so here, in Washington DC last year. Secret Service agent Ron Williams says, "The intelligence Community has known for sometime the association of Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, and Mr. Alamoudi and their association with terrorist organizations." .  Once again, these are not "Lone madmen" operating on the fringe.  They command widespread and popular support here and abroad.
  • On a more subtle and frightening note, the ABSENCE of any loud, widespread, and vocal opposition to these people is a terrifying example of the tacit approval they receive from Muslims worldwide.  When Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo launched their wars of fascism and genocide against the free world, Germans, Italians and Japanese, Christians, Catholics, and Japanese Buddhists enlisted in DROVES and respected leaders of these communities spoke loudly, openly, and universally in opposition.  Where are the Muslim voices of opposition?  Name ONE example of a leader of Islam who has come out strongly in defiance of these animals and in UNQUALIFIED support of the west?  You cannot - there are none.  The silence is deafening.  Hitler did not force the Werhmacht into Poland.  Tojo did not force the Japanese army to rape thousands of Chinese women in Manchuria.  Their armies came from the PEOPLE and the PEOPLE of these nations knew what they were doing.  They were not innocent victims of corrupt leaders, and isolated examples of individual resistance or opposition do not prove otherwise.
  • From the numerous and deliberate calls for jihad against America (including just this week when Bin Laden called for "Muslims of the world" to united and "kill American's") to the active and global mobilization of terrorist forces, the message is painfully clear.

Again, it is not the religious teachings of Islam which must be condemned based on these indictments, rather, it is the 20th / 21st century cultural manifestation of Islam which is aberrant, malignant, and is being manipulated (exactly like anti-Semitism was in WWII) as a power base for a war against western civilization, specifically, America.  We would be wise to consider the model provided to us by WWII as a both a warning of what is to come and as a course for current and future action, namely, the deconstruction of this culture (as we did to the pseudo-religious cultures of fascist Japan and Germany) and the UN supervised fostering of democratic government to replace the absolutist theocracies which have spawned this malevolent jihad against America and the free world.

We are at war with a culture in which large numbers of the demographic makeup and its leaders are actively seeking our extermination.  These are the facts.
