Jeff Mutter's EL -- The Prototype Railroad

To assist railroad personnel in assigning locomotives with enough horsepower to move a train across the railroad without stalling on grades, or over-assigning power and wasting resources, the Erie Lackawanna rated locomotives for tonnage on each of the Divisions. Reproduced below are tonnage and grade information obtained from a table prepared in 1968 by the Tri-State Chapter of the NHRS. The table this data was obtained from was cut off at the bottom and one side, so the ratings for three 3300 units eastbound on all divisions and the westbound ratings for the Marion Division are missing.
