What's New

January 27, 2008

I'm in the process of updating the site. So far, I've added a Progress as of January 2008 page (still adding to that, though) and updated the individual model photo pages. Soon to come are pictures of model Bloomsburg Branch, prototype photos from several sources who have generously allowed me to include their work, and some ICC Valuation drawings of portions of the Bloomsburg Branch. Stay tuned!

Well, after way too long I've updated several areas:

I also revised some of the existing sections to reflect corrections and clarifications I've received.

And finally, don't forget to check out the spreadsheet of locations on the 2-CD collection of Erie Lackawanna photographs produced from Jim Swipes' photos by the Hudson Model Railroad Club and available from the Erie Lackawanna Historical Society website.

Track Charts for the mainline between Scranton and Stroudsburg are new today (navigate to them using the menu at left). Track charts are line drawings maintained by the railroad, showing the track schematic, grade profile, curvature, signal types and signal numbers, and lots of other interesting information. These images are scans of a photocopied original.

Also added photos of the Elmhurst Dam with the Steamtown excursion train climbing the Pocono grade toward Moscow, plus photos of the dam and reservoir from the train.

Added Tobyhanna prototype info page with aerial photos of the area, pictures of the restored station, the interlocking tower, industry in 1975, and industry in 1999.

Still to come: pictures of the switch and lead into the Tobyhanna Army Depot, Elmhurst Reservoir photos, and recent pics of the model.

The most obvious news is the look of the site, changed to make the menu structure more intuitive and understandable, and to make it work with more browser configurations.

At this point I haven't added much material, though.  I do have quite a bit to add, and that will be coming soon, so please check back!
