We hope you enjoy visiting our G.I Joe Adventure Team Headquarters. We will be updating the site on a more regular basis.
This site was started as a small idea and it has mushroomed into much more. GI Joe Adventure Team is the main subject matter here although we will cover the vintage gi joe line in some areas.
The Adventure Team was my personal favorite of the GI Joe line. My first G.I. Joe experience was when I was 7 years old - christmas of 1972. My parents gave me a GI Joe Man of Action and gave my Brother a GI Joe Sea Adventurer. We had much fun playing together with our GI Joes. A simple cardboard box could become a GI Joe fort. Plain old household items would become weapons. It was a blast.
I outgrew my GIJoe collection when I was about 10 years old. I had held on to my collection until I was about 15 and then I gave it all to my cousin. I had the GI Joe Adventure Team Seawolf Sub. I had the GI Joe Jeep, the Devil of the Deep set (one of my favorite GI Joe Adventure Team items!!!) I also had the Adventure Team helicopter and the Irwin Helicopter and numerous knock-off sets which I now wish I didn't fork over to my cousin.
Many years later, I was browsing the web for a completely unrelated item when I happened to stumble upon a couple of GI Joe websites and then eBay. I was amazed how much GI Joe and G.I. Joe Adventure Team stuff was still around and in good condition. I saw that Hasbro had started making 12 inch GI Joes again and I knew eventually, I would have to have one. Then, one day, my wife came home from the mall with the Classic Collection gi joe mercury astronaut. I was so excited. I was off and running then. My collection has grown exponentially since then. My wife also introduced me to the husband of one of her friends who just so happened to be a collector as well. That was when I met Larry. We started this site in 1999 as a place to show our collections and various GI Joe and other Action Figure projects we were working on.
I will be changing a few things around again very soon and by springtime, I hope to have this site modified to a point where I can update it more frequently.
