Days Home
We
can't believe that we've been home almost a month already. Time has
flown by. Each day we learn more and more about Mia and just how amazing
she is. She has such a great disposition and tolerates everything so
well. She is such a happy baby and making it very easy for us first
time parents.
We
arrived into Portland's International Airport on October 23, 2003. We
were greeted by 5 of our friends who had made a big sign welcoming Mia
to Portland and the United States. It was a great homecoming. As jet
lagged as we were, and as much as we loved China, it felt great to be
home and great to be with close friends again.
After
the introductions at the airport, we put Mia into her first car seat
and headed home. She handled it all like a champ. We then introduced
her to her new home and let her get settled in to her surroundings.
We decided not to pick up Murphy and Rosie from the kennel until the
next day. We wanted to give Mia a chance to feel comfortable before
meeting her furry brother and sister.
We
were so grateful to have my best friend Tricia from Chicago visiting
us. Without her we would not have been able to get over the jet lag
as fast as we did. She was a great Mommy's helper and allowed me to
unpack, do laundry, relax and just enjoy being home. Thank you, Trish!
