League Rules
There
are some differences between the league rules and tournament rules.

League Rules 2008
|
- No base running.
- Teams shall carry at least 1 and no more than 6 players
on their roster.
- Teams may field 3 players or less on defense, but may
have up to 6 batters.
- All fielders must bat.
- Strike zone is 22" by 30" approximately 16"
off the ground. A pitch hitting the strike zone or post
on top of the strike zone is a strike.
- A pitched ball that hits the batter is a ball, although
the batter must attempt to avoid being hit. Batter makes
all fair and foul calls. Doubles line calls are made by
the fielder closest to the play. Pitcher makes check swing
calls.
- Pitch count-
- A walk is 6 balls.
- Intentional walk may be given without throwing any
pitches. Pitcher just says it to the batter.
- Any combination of 2 fouls or strikes is an out.
- Swing and a miss is an out.
- Pitching speed limit is 35 mph, enforced with radar gun.
Penalty- Player may not pitch any more during that game
plus the next game.
- Pitching mound is 43' 6" from strike zone. Singles
line is at 43' 6". Doubles line is at 65'. Home run
fence is at 85' straight away, 89' to foul poles. Fence
is 6' high with 52' between foul poles.
- The fence near the parking lot shall be out of bounds.
- Foul balls-
- Any hit ball not reaching the singles line is a strike.
- Ground ball outside of foul lines when reaching singles
line.
- Fly ball landing in foul ground, touched in foul ground,
or going wide of foul poles. A foul fly shall be judged
according to the relative position of the ball and the
foul line, including the foul pole, and not as to whether
the infielder is on foul or fair territory at the time
he touches the ball.
- Singles-
- Any ball reaching the singles line in fair ground.
- Ground ball not fielded cleanly in front of singles
line. No bobbles at all allowed.
- Fair fly ball touched but not caught short of singles
line.
- Ball hitting another wiffle ball in fair ground in
front of the singles line.
- Doubles-
- Fair ball reaching the doubles line in the air, but
hitting before the fence.
- Fair ball landing in front of the doubles or singles
line that then hits the fence in fair ground.
- Triples- Fair ball hitting the fence in the air or deflecting
off of a fielder into the fence.
- Home runs-
- Ball crossing over the fence while in fair territory
and not caught.
- Ball hitting a foul pole above the fence.
- Double plays- Fly ball caught and then immediately thrown
to hit the strike zone in the air. Only in effect with a
runner on base. Lead runner is removed. Runners do not advance
on missed attempt.
- Imaginary runners on base advance as hitter does.
- Only the official (baseball size) plastic wiffle ball
with 8 elongated holes will be used.
- Balls may not be intentionally scuffed. No ball with a
crack greater than 1/4" may be used. All balls are
subject to approval by the Commissioner.
- Hard plastic, aluminum, wooden, and graphite bats may
be used. Fiberglass bats are illegal. Bats shall be smooth,
round and not more than 42 inches in length or 2 1/8 inches
wide. Any bat is subject to approval by the Commissioner.
- All players must play bare handed. Batters may only use
batting glove when batting.
- Fielders can position as they wish in fair territory without
obstructing the batter. Pitchers must pitch from the middle
of the field.
- Each game is 6 innings long. If game is tied after 6 innings,
the 7th begins with the bases loaded.
- Game is official after 4 innings, with a 10 run rule after
4 innings. Team captains will call games due to weather
conditions.
- A team is awarded 3 losses for failing to show on game
day. Their scheduled opponent is awarded 3 wins. A team
has 15 minutes after scheduled game time to show before
forfeiting games.
- A player must play in at least 7 regular season games
to be eligible to play in any playoff game.
- The rules of major league baseball shall apply to all
situations not covered by these rules.
- Any dispute or questions regarding interpretation of these
rules shall be resolved by the Commissioner or a board member.
- Protesting games- When a captain protests a game, the
other team's captain must be notified at the time the play
under protest occurs and before the next pitch is made.
Team captains shall note the exact situation in writing
to the executive board. The decision of the executive board
is final.
- Alcohol will be permitted on the premises.
- Throwing a bat or intentionally hitting a strike zone
with a bat will result in ejection from the game and suspension
for 1 game.
- Unruly conduct will not be tolerated. Penalties include
but are not limited to-
- Ejection from the game.
- Forfeit of the game.
- Expulsion from the league.
- Death by firing squad.
