K8IVC was an Electronics instructor at the Oakland Technical Center - Southwest Campus (OTC-SW) for 30 years. The school was an area vocational center, where high school students learned basic electricity and electronics. They also got into robotics, computer repair, networking, and web design. During that time (or as a result of), a number of students also got into ham radio, including WB8YMV, N8SMD, N8PGF, KA8SIE, N8WNC, N8ICK, KC8VQW, and KC8KZN. Many successful careers were launched over the years as the result of this program. Regretfully, it was dismantled in 2000 when the instructor (K8IVC) retired from teaching. If your a former student, send me an email and let me know what you are doing. |
