Thomas Wild Note to James Mirick

Published in the Otsego Herald and Western Advertiser (name index April 3, 1795 - Dec. 30, 1809) on November 27, 1806, and December 4, 1806 (same notice published in 2 different publications).   A copy of the article was sent to me by the Local History Collection of the Gilbertsville Free Library, Gilbertsville, NY, July, 1999.

Butternuts, NY, Nov. 27, 1806: Ten Dollar's Reward. LOST, on the morning of the 12th inst. by the subscriber, in the town of Butternuts, walked about half a mile, POCKET-BOOK, supposed to be picked up by some evil minded person in said town, containing one note signed by Samuel Wakefield to the subscriber, of 15 dolls. 8 cents, payable 13th of the month--one note of 17 dolls. 50 cents, against Jesse Stebbins, payable September last--one note against Warren Johnson, of [pounds] 6. 14, payable 1st November, dated 31st January last--one note signed by Samuel Jackson, sometime in May last, of 18 dolls. payable lst of the present month--two notes against THOMAS WILD [emphasis added], of 18 dolls. each, payable on demand to the subscriber--one note against Joseph West, of 4 dolls. 6 cents, payable 25th December next--one note against Jason Coye, of 25 dollars, payable on demand to the subscriber--one note against David Fish, of 6 dolls, on demand, to the subscriber--3 notes against Nathan Coye, to the amount of between 50 and 60 dolls. all payable on demand--one bond against Asa Coye, (emphasis added) of 248 dolls. payable 20 dollars, yearly, with interest--one bond against David Fish, for thirty thousand feet of boards--1 note against Samuel & Danl. Jackson, in favor of Isaac Adams, of between 16 & 17 dolls.--two notes signed by George M. Shepard, one 8 the other 5 dolls. payable lst January next--one note against Shadrach Thompson of 10 dolls. 6 cents.

All persons are forbid purchasing any of the above obligations, or collecting any of them; and the persons above named are likewise cautioned against paying any of the said obligations to any person but the subscriber. The above reward will be paid to any person who will deliver the said Pocket Book, with its contents, to the subscriber.  JAMES MIRICK.
