Abstract of the Will of John Hewes

John Hewes of Sittuate made his will 6 Feb, 1671.

Bequests were as follows:

To "my son John Hewes my young horse of two yeer old and my serge cloake;"

To "Jeremiah Hatch my son in law, all the Rest of my wearing clothes;"

To "Joannah my welbeloved wife; all the Rest of my estate with all my Right and Interest and priviliges in the towne of Scittuate; and all other Graunts of lands else where, that Doe or may appeer to be Due to mee whome I Doe ordaine . . . . the sole executrix of this my last Will."

The will was signed by a mark, and witnessed by Samuel Witherell and Israel Hubbert.

Hubbert made oath to the will before the Court at Plymouth, but the date was not entered.

Witherell made oath to it 22 February, 1674, before James cudworth, Assistant.
