The overall five-year survival rate has more than tripled in the last 40 years for leukemia patients
The leukemia death rate for children in the US has declined 62% over the past 30 years. Despite this decline, leukemia remains a leading cause of death among children under age 20.
The five-year survival rate for non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is 51%.
The five-year survival rate for myeloma is 28%.
For the National Capital Chapter, we are trying to raise $1.1 million this season, that will fund a five year grant for a doctor to study some aspect of the disease or new treatment.
