The Journey of Our Hearts

Bringing Our "Forever Family" Together

I am a little Chinese girl who was born on March 23, 2000 - the Year of the Dragon.  I was living in the Hunan Province in the People's Republic of China.  My birth parents loved me very much but couldn’t keep me, so they made a BIG decision to create an adoption plan for me, and placed me with some very nice people at the You Xian Welfare Home.  They were hoping that a special couple who didn’t have children would adopt me and give me a good home and a wonderful life.

At the same time - half a world away, in the United States of America - my new Ma Ma (Mommy) and Ba Ba (Daddy) - you probably know them as Karen and Michael Davis - had been dreaming of a little girl to love and cherish as their very own daughter.  They have been working and planning for over two years to adopt me into their lives and make a home for me.   They were fortunate to have the help of many wonderful people along the way.

On December 20th, 2000 (my Aunt Yvonne's Birthday!), my Mommy received "THE CALL" from our guardian angel, Marianne Adams of Children's Hope International, and they finally saw my beautiful face.  The next few weeks were a whirlwind of preparation and packing.  Then finally, on Valentine's Day 2001, they boarded a plane with light hearts and HEAVY suitcases to come to China and meet ME!

Here we are on the famous "Red Sofa" at the White Swan Hotel in Guangzhou, China on February 28, 2001 - just before we boarded a plane to return home to America.   This was one of the first pictures taken of the three of us - together as a family.

Thank you for visiting my Web site.  And, if you can, please send me an email to help me get to know you better.  I promise I'll answer (or at least Mommy will until I can type a little better!)
