Across the nation and around the world, students are flocking to 'bellydance' classes, as more and more women discover the many health benefits of this ancient art form. Many women are switching over from regular attendance at Aerobics classes to join in a regimen more validating of their essential femininity, as not only is bellydance a lower impact workout, but the workout clothes are much more fun and attractive!

This ancient art of Middle-Eastern-style dance strengthens the whole body, improving both muscle tone and posture. Circulation and oxygen intake are heightened, which further vitalizes the overall health of the practitioner and slows the aging process. Dedication to a weekly workout brings added confidence, poise, and a positive self-image. Within the first few weeks of classes many dance students report a sudden surge of compliments about their appearance from friends and co-workers.

There is no age limit or size requirement to the study of bellydance either. Students range from as young as 2 years old to up into their 80's, and they come in all sizes from petite to plus-size. Attendance as part of a group class also creates a feeling of 'sisterhood', which for those that continue on into joining a working dance troupe (such as Troupe Zahava!) becomes a firm support network, as their dance sisters accept one another openly as part of the team no matter what the 'exterior package'.

So, if you are ready to challenge yourself, make time to nurture your spirit, and discover the joy of connecting with your own "inner goddess", sign up for a bellydance class today!
