Finally, bulb companies are making a few styles that are almost the same size and shape as the early painted bulbs made mostly by the Mazda Lamp Co. between 1924 and 1935. They are only made in clear and glossy white, so they have to be matte painted by hand (which I do) to similate the old original colors. The filaments are not the beautiful zig-zag pattern like some of the old ones, but more of a semi-circle.

Here is a display of the most popular new bulbs that I have available.

The small round bulbs are 2 1/2 inches in diameter while the large round bulbs are 3 inches. The flame bulbs are all the same size and all bulbs have the medium Edison screw base - the same as the normal U.S. household bulb. You can see the Wattages available in each bulb, and the one not shown is the 3" Orange 25 Watt bulb.

This is the main line of bulbs available, and they light up just like the old ones (the Gold bulbs give off the most light for the wattage, while the Orange bulbs give off a rosy light like a glowing fireplace). The flame bulbs should only be used pointing upwards as in the candle socket fixtures.
