BULBS
FIXTURES* Introducing New Art Deco Painted Bulbs * Incandescent Lamps *
Welcome to the Antique Lighting Home Page presented by Karlucci Studios, and thank you for taking the trouble to find this page (I know it's hard to find, but I prefer it that way). NEW! I've added my own line of painted bulbs for those wonderful funky 1920s and 1930s fixtures that were made to hold only bulbs. Just click on the BULB icon and review the uses and availability of these Mazda type bulbs, wholesale and retail, and how to order. The Bulbs page has a secure link for ordering directly using PayPal.
I have discontinued sales from the collection catalog of restored antique and collectible light fixtures and lamps, including candle, kerosene and oil, gas, gas/electric combination, and electric lighting. It seems that these items get sold before I have a chance to post them properly. Instead, I will periodically post good period examples of fixtures that I have restored just for viewing (these have all been sold). I apologize for not being able to sell these on-line, but you are free to inquire by email if you are interested in finding or having restored something similar to the ones shown.
I put together a brief history (and I hope it's accurate) of lighting in the U.S., which includes diagrams, to help you identify what type and style of lighting would have been original to your home, but remember to select something that you love, even if the style is not quite right, because you have to live with it. Sometimes, even purists must settle for antique reproductions to achieve the desired effect.
The collection catalog consists of many thumbnails and a description for each item, and it may take a while for the page to completely open, but please be patient. Authenticity, approximate age, materials, finish, type of lighting and style corresponding to the woodwork sketches in Brief History will be duly noted, as well as width and minimum height (fixtures can be lengthened to any height). All items are restored, wired and electrified to approved code, with great care to preserve the original appearance while providing functionality. Clicking the thumbnail will bring up an enlarged JPEG of the item.
I hope to update this site as often as possible. Sorry that I'm not able to update more often. Last Update: 7/30/06 Don't forget to check out the Painted Bulbs! This site purposely lacks bells and whistles in favor of speed and space. Please Email your interest, questions (include catalog numbers) and requests, or just send comments to karlucci@karluccistudios.com. Other items not shown may be readily available that meet your needs and budget. I will respond to your inquiries.
