Vision: To provide residence and a common kitchen, dining, and living room for youth and young couples transitioning to independent living. These young people are in foster care, single, young couples, homeless or soon to be homeless, low-income youth between the ages of sixteen and twenty-two, whose stay may be from three to eighteen months. Transitions Unlimited will collaborate with the Hartford Housing Authority (HHA) & Vermont Housing Authority (VHA), Transitions Unlimited who owns and manages the property. The youth & young couples are responsible for paying a portion of the rent for their room or suite.

“Professional Roommate Project”

Vision: The charge of the Professional Roommates would be to provide live in support to the identified population and their team in a home setting and assist in addressing their immediate, short and long term goals in the areas of career development, financial literacy, health (including physical & mental health/substance abuse), education and life skills and recreation. The target population may be in foster care, under corrections supervision, developmentally disabled, single, homeless or soon to be homeless, low-income youth, between the ages of sixteen and twenty-two, whose stay may be from three to eighteen months (target six). Transitions Unlimited will provide the residence with a common kitchen, dining, and living room, supervise the Professional Roommates, announce the program and will collaborate with partners throughout the area and report to the YIT group. The youth are responsible for paying a portion of the rent for their room or suite of which a portion will be held in escrow for a scholarship granted at completion of program.
