I suppose a little biographical information is in order...
First off, my name is Kevin Strong, and I live out here in the wilds of suburban Denver along with my wife Allison, our dog Pooh Bear, and our two monster cats, Whitney and Wesley

I've been into garden railroading since about as long as I can remember, our family getting our first LGB train back in 1976. (I was 5). Rumors that I learned to count by the Whyte classification system, however, are largely unsubstantiated. Honestly, though, I can't remember ever not liking trains.
Professionally, I'm a video editor for KCNC-TV in Denver, but that's only my day--er, night--job. (Somebody's gotta cut tape for the 10 o'clock news...) But more to the point, I'm just a dyed in the wool train nut. My first love as far as railroads go is the East Broad Top Railroad in south central Pennsylvania. I've been a student of that railroad since 1990, and the Tuscarora Railroad is based heavily on the history of that line, which you'll notice elsewhere. I'm the editor of the Friends of the East Broad Top's quarterly magazine, the Timber Transfer, which keeps my nose into history and looking through old books and photos.
When I'm not writing for that, I write a Garden Railways Basics column for Garden Railways magazine.
