Mark and Lindsey Rentschler stopped by last weekend. It was a quick trip for them, but a pleasure having them. One small point of clarification on putting metal juice concentrate lids in the microwave is required though; they do not cause a problem because they are thick enough to handle the heat when the microwaves produce current, and they have no sharp edges that allow the current to arc. But you don't have to believe us...

Krista's family visited this weekend. The highlights included watching the Huskers' game, a tour, a baby visit, a trip to an orchard and Stillwater, and eating out. They were very generous taking us to such fine restuarants as D'Amico & Sons. We recommend the mushroom pizza.

Sunday, October 12

Sweet, innocent, wouldn't-kill-a-fly Krista is a budding dictator bent on world domination. In preparation for the annual Christmas Risk game, I started teaching her how to play. It wasn't long before tentative "I don't know how to play. Help me." statement turned into "I WANT SIAM!". She won our first game too.

albinoalbino

I never thought anyone would believe me. This is my fourth albino squirrel sighting in St. Paul. Is the a genetic anomaly or are they adapting for winter camouflage?

marathonbagpipes

On Sunday the Twincities marathon ran along Summit. The overall winner finished in 2:12:47. The rest of us just enjoyed the festivities. The TCM wasn't the Bay to Breakers, but the B2B couldn't claim a Scottish trio with bagpipes. (one drummer was on break.)

fall

Our favorite season has finally arrived. The past few days the leaves on Summit have been bursting into brilliant oranges and reds with the same rush of popcorn in hot oil.

chair

This is one of the chairs that we recently refinished. Hopefully, these silly projects are finally over.
