2012 FBS Spring Stats = updated July 1
KCFR sixth annual edition.   2012 rosters have been scoured for departed players (a few players have been flagged out for the season
due to injury or suspension).   Those players 2011 stats are excepted and the result is a compilation of losses by position for each team.
Teams are listed in their conference or division from fewest losses to worst, so theoretically, the first listed teams should be the most improved.
WHAT THE NUMBERS INDICATE:   For example, Florida State loses 3.54 out of 11 Offensive Starters based on individual game starts in 2011.
FSU loses 1.77 out of 5 Offensive Line starters.   They lose 26 percent of their rushing yards by anyone with positive net yards for the season.
No QB passing yards are lost.   18 percent of receiving yards are lost.   The Seminoles will lose only 2.31 out of 11 Defensive Starters from 2011.
Defensive Tackling Rating has FSU losing 28% from the Top 22 tacklers.   (Tackle Rating gives 2 points for a solo tackle and 1 point for assisted.)
Defensive Line has no losses, Linbackers lose 37% tackling stats, and Defensive Backs lose 43%.   (Samples are from the Top 22 tacklers plus
any player who started at least one game on defense.)
The FBS ranking is for overall losses giving each category equal weight.   Florida State has the 5th fewest overall losses out of 120 FBS teams
and should be greatly improved this season.    Four FCS transitioning teams are not included in the overall rank but are ranked within their conference.
Bowling Green, Duke, Central Michigan and Texas Tech have the fewest overall losses.
Air Force, New Mexico St, Boise State, and Miami (Fla) have the worst overall losses.
