Newly Certified

This year I set out to find myself full time employment in the IT field.  Since march I have completed the following certifications: MCSA, CCNA, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Linux+,  You can download my esume in Word format if you'd like.  Over the past few years most of my computer work is web related.  I currently develop and manage a site for The Road Warriors.  This particular project makes heavy use of PHP and a MySQL database, both of which I had to learn for this project.

In 2004 Turner Stokes and I were collaborating on web site projects for the American Recreation Coalition's Fun Outdoors and Take Pride In America's Partners Program.  This project required  HTML 4.0, ASP and ASP.NET   . I have developed skills with Adobe PhotoShop, Ray Dream Designer, Paint Shop Pro, Arachnophilia, Microsoft FrontPage and several other design program.   My ISP service is via Comcast who have provided me excellent service for several years.

Computer History

My computer background stretches back to 1967, when I took FORTRAN at Penn State while getting a BA in Business. In the 70's I returned to school at the University of Maryland where I attempted a second bachelors in Computer Science. Though I didn't finish, I did manage to complete all programming requirements and still had the 'bug' when the first home computers hit the market in the early 80's. During that period I wrote programs for the Radio Shack Model III and Model IV machines, once sold Kaypro CP/M units for a living, and eventually bought a Vic-20 on which I wrote an assembly language program to send and receive Morse code. Later it was on to a Commodore 64, C-128, Amiga 500, Amiga 2000 and finally I bit the bullet and moved to the PC world with a 486DX100.  I later added Pentium II 200, a Pentium 100 (for Linux use and as an internet gateway) and later the Athlon 800 and Athlon 2400 and others.  Currently I have a 4 PC network, with two dual boot machines and network print server.  I use Samba to network Microsoft with Linux, and one Linux machine is equipped with the Apache, PHP, MySQL combination.  I'm currently working on a web project in PHPI have written a few programs in Visual Basic and MS Access as well.
