'Ham' Radio
As
mentioned on my home page, I have been a 'ham' radio operator since 1963. As a Novice I
was first licensed as WN3DDO, moving up to General Class as WA3DDO within a year. I have
held an Extra Class Amateur Radio License since 1979, with my current callsign AE3D.
Throughout most of the 70's, 80's and 90's I was an active member of the American Radio Relay League the country's foremost 'ham'
radio association, and through the 80's and the early 90's I was active with the
Anne Arundel Radio Club as well. For
a period I was head of the AARC
training program, and was active in their record high scoring Field Day exercises as well.
After several
years of HF inactivity I finally got a multi-band vertical on the roof.
It needs a few adjustments, but works OK on several bands.
Bought myself a Kenwood TS-5700 to replace my damaged
Yaesu 757GX, and its at
least semi-operational. I'm looking forward to checking out
PSK31 teletype
again soon.
If my favorite roof climber hadn't just moved to
Pennsylvania, I might have everything working by now.
