My
box was a marketing piece I made to give to a prospective client (in this
case, Regence) after a series of interviews in order to remind them of my
existence as well as my qualifications and my coolness. The box was a cube made
of square pieces of wood that opened up flat to reveal the contents, which were
nine square wooden cards, each with one of the following graphics glued to the
front.

I
almost left out this card with my name.

This
card had real clock hands attached to the front so that they spun around when
picked up.

Pretty
self-explanatory. I used words that were relevant to this client (Regence).

The
photo looked much better on the card, not quite so eerie looking.

I
hope this didn't come across as a promise to be a workaholic again.

I
glued tiny black and white velcro to the front of this and then glued the other
side of the velcro to three flat beads, each with one of my initials on them, so
that it was actually a working dart board.

On
the actual card, I used my real hand-print.

The
puzzle was printed out on a separate piece of wood and cut out with a jigsaw, so
that the puzzle could actually be taken apart and played.

I
came up with these top ten reasons with the help of ex-bosses, ex-co-workers,
and friends. Thank you!
The
following is a poem written by my publisher and friend, Douglas
Dix. Thanks, Doug, I couldn't have done it without you!
