It speaks of his "broad, high forehead, open framk countenance, full grown, untrimmed and unshaven beard, mark him as a genuine frontiersman, one accustomed to untold privations and hardships. He is a Tennesseean by birth. A resident of Texas for 28 years. Owns a ranch in Helena, Texas, of about 1500 acres, with about 3000 cattle and 500 horses.
