The National Technology Institute for School Counselors (NTISC) was founded in 1999 by Dr. Kenneth E. Hartman, after the publication on his 1998 ground-breaking article on technology standards for school counselors  in Education Week. Since that time, the NTISC has conducted workshops and seminars all over the country, educating thousands of counselors (K-12) on how to use technology to enhance their work with students and families.

The NTISC employs a cadre of highly trained and seasoned practicing school counselors to conduct its workshops, seminars, and summer institutes, along with produce its high acclaimed curriculum and materials.
