Goal of the Institute
To provide school counselors and counselor educators with the technical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to integrate technology into their work with today's children, families, and graduate students.
What you will learn
Depending on the length of the event, you'll  learn: 
  • How to locate, interpret and use Internet information, including: e-mail, WWW, newsgroups, listservs, chats
  • How to use databases to monitor student progress and promote academic achievement 
  • How to create and maintain a guidance web site with little effort and cost 
  • How to create and host on-line forums for students and families 
  • How to create presentations using MS-Powerpoint®
  • How to evaluate software and hardware 
  • How to write technology plans and grants
  • How to effectively use an assortment of e-devices, i.e.,  Palm, digital camera, scanner
  • How to ensure that all students and families have access to technology and online resources

No prior knowledge of computers is necessary or expected of participants
