The Kentlake Challenge is designed to provide a competitive volleyball experience for those teams that did not make the state 3A or 4A tournament last year. We especially encouarge 2A and smaller schools to participate. The Challenge will be held September 23rd, and is limited to either 12 or 16 teams.

Format

There will be three pools of four teams. Each pool will play two games to 25 and one game to 15. Warmups for the first two rounds of pool play will be 4/4/2 and 4/1 for all other matches. One minute between games and 2 30 second time outs per game. The doors will open at 7:30am and the coaches meeting will be at 8am. Play will begin at 8:30am.

Concessions

We will have a full concession stand including bagles, donuts, fresh baked muffins, hotdogs, pizza, popcorn, water, pop and many other items. The menu will change depending on the time of day with breakfast items transitioning into lunch and dinner items.

Hospitality Room

We will have a full hospitality room for coaches and refs with hot foods, plenty of water, juice and pop, fresh fruit, veggies, chili, cornbread, muffins, etc. We will also have a TV available.

Standard Format

The Kentlake Challenge will be a traditional "pool play followed by bracket play" tournament. There will be either three or four pools of four teams in the morning followed by eight or six team brackets in the afternoon. Pools will be two games to twenty five. Bracket games will be best two out of three with the first two games to twenty five and the third game (if needed) to fifteen.

Features

The Kentlake Challenge will feature professional "Up" refs for all matches. Teams will be responsible for all other reffing positions, but a limited number of "Down refs", scorekeepers and lines people will be available for hire (proceeds to the Kentlake VB Booster Group) if your team desires.

A wide variety of concessions will be available. A coaches/referees hospitality room will also be available.

The tournament will be $200/team. Spots will only be held by receipt of payment. Space is strictly limited to 16 teams.
