Kerry Deare's cruising web pages are sporting a new look. I developed these pages
back in January of 1998,
and since then many readers have patiently suffered through "the same old thing." No
longer! |
|
To liven things up, I've re-organized
the material and added new services, including a table of
contents and a site search page. I've also revised the
navigation and it's now much easier to get around (even without a GPS). Tour the
site by clicking on any of the buttons at left. If you have time, sign the
Guest Log. |
|
The
new Photos 'n Links page showcases recent shots of Kerry Deare and her friends
in action. I have finally uploaded actual photos of Maine and Nova Scotia. The
accompanying Links page
will soon list many extensive sailing collections, as well as selected individual favorites.
As a matter of policy, the links and photo pages are permanently "under construction."

Why bother with
another sailing site? |
|
Even a brief glance at existing sailing pages
reveals an abundance of good material and sources, so why does the world need one more? My
aim is to offer uncomplicated information on small boat cruising, sailing destinations,
and gear and technique, derived from my own experiences on an ordinary boat, using ordinary
skills, but with lots of time. Time is a key element for most sailors so if I
save you some, I've succeeded.
|
|
In these pages we emphasize actual experience in
small boats. If you are looking for a theoretical discussion about which anchor or
technique is best under which circumstances, I can refer you to a number of very good
sources. However this site is not one of them. You will find no speculation and
only ocean-tested items aboard this vessel. |
|
Inside the site you'll also find stories about
some of the cruises Kerry Deare has made. Using the Sailor's
Tales button at the right,
you can now read about: |
