According to this book your lines would be: William Woolman b1632 Eng d 30Mar1692 Burlington Co, NJ John Woolman m. Elizabeth Borton Mary Woolman m. William Hunt Hannah Hunt m. William Kersey Marv's line appears to be traced downward to Daniel while Janice's line is traced downward to Eva's children Mary Hazel Henderson b. 12Dec1896 and Cecil Pearl Henderson b. 25Oct1898. In fact the book traces 176 descendants of William Kersey and Hannah Hunt named Kersey including the family of Jasper W. Kersey (Ezra, Amos, William, Hannah Hunt). and perhaps 100 more descendants of other surnames. So far the only copy I've come across is at the FHC Salt Lake City. I would expect a few other major libraries and perhaps one or more of the Friends' (Quaker) college libraries to have a copy. I don't have an address for the John Woolman Memorial Association however John Woolman is an important American historical figure, especially in Quaker circles and I know that there is a lot of stuff on the net pertaining to him and his writings. A little surfing might bring up an address. Will

I have to agree they are transferred to CD's from the Census Records, and are subject to human error. However, I have yet to find an error on the Census Index. I have copied many page numbers and gone to the library and the info that I wanted was on the page that the CD listed The Family Sheets that are on the 5.0 WFTM can only list what people have volunteered to give to Broderbund, and of course they can and do contain errors. But, again, the information there is for the most part true. I neither work for Broderbund nor do I advocate buying their merchandise. Top
Date: Sat, 26 Sep 1998 22:42:35 -0400 From: Gene Funderburk <funderbk@wilmington.net> Subject: Coursey/Kersey family Hi Marv: Searching for the family of Isabella COURSEY. She was born in either South Carolina or Georgia about 1805. Isabel married Jesse Spear in Jasper County, Georgia on December 28, 1824. Family tradition suggests she may have been part or full-blooded Indian. The 1860 Jasper County census indicated she was a person of color and could not read nor write. Jesse and Isabel's children were Lewis W., Frances, Elizabeth J., Martha, Mary Ann, Lucinda, John Andrew Jackson, Isabel, Nancy Barbara, Elbridge G., and Francis Marion Spear. My great-grandfather was Francis Marion Spear. Jesse and Isabel had land in Jasper, DeKalb, and Cherokee (later Union and Fannin) Counties in Georgia. Jesse Spear was an officer in Georgia Militia District 364 which was southwest Jasper County, Georgia during the 1820s and 1830s. I believe this was the time of the Indian Removal. Isabel Coursey Spear died on February 18, 1884 and was buried in a family burial ground (which has not yet been located) in southwest Jasper County, south of Gladesville. James Coursey and Christopher Coursey lived near the Spear family in 1830 and were probably Isabel's brothers. It is my understanding the Kersey/Coursey name may have Indian roots. Can anyone help me with this family? Thank you very much. There were some Courseys in neighboring Jones County, Georgia including a James Coursey in the early 1800s. Also, a James Coursey was listed between 1808 and 1812 in the Morgan County, Georgia Militia. This could possibly be Isabella Coursey's father. Gene Funderburk funderbk@wilmington.net
