I've read this and I remember something about a Aunt Lular! Jimmy can you remember Daddy or Mama talking about this? I can't remember what but I know that I heard them taking about her. Also it seem's there may be a connection somehow that joined us all here somehow. I do know that Daddy had some kind of connection to Florida other than Uncle Bud. It could be why Uncle Bud was in Florida. I hope you can understand what I mean. I don't know how to put it into words. Tom do you have anything that can connect this? Maybe if we all put our heads together we can add 2 and 2 and come up with 4. LOL I know that Jimmy is OLD enough. Ha! Love Ya! KERSEY ISSAC E. white, born July 1871, age 28, born Florida " Lulor wife born 1874, age 25, born Florida " Dennes son born Nove 1895 age 4 born Florida The Lulor listed is most possibly named Lula, and the Dennes is probably Dennis. I thought at first that this could be Troy's ISSAC KERSEY, but the birthdates are not the same and this Issac was born in Florida, whereas Troy's Issac was born in Alabama. Troy said that his Issac moved back to either AL. GA, or TN, during the late 1880's. My library doesn't have the 1900 Soundex on these three States. However it does have the 1880 Soundex for Ga & Al, but not TN. I looked at both Ga and Al and no Issac Kersey on the 1880 Soundex. It would be nice if any of you could help Troy on this. ... This ends the 1900 Florida Soundex on Kersey. I have the 1880 Soundex on Alabama and Georgia, if anyone is interested, then, please e-mail me personally and not through the Kersey List. Good Luck and Good Hunting. and Good-bye, Doris

Date: Mon, 29 Mar 1999 10:29:25 -1000 From: "Ralph T. Williams" <tabor@lava.net> Subject: Cader Kersey et al. Marv, In Kersey Digest no. 69, message no. 30, you wrote: Ralph-- What do you make of this entry from Doris' Soundex listing? Is there a connection to your Cader Kersey? 1900 Vol 6, E.D. 31 Sheet 5, Line Carrabelle, Franklin Co. KERSEY GEORGE W. white, born May 1852 age 48, born Florida. " Sarah E. wife born Nov 1860 age 39 born Georgia " Minnie dau. Dec 1887 age 17, born Florida. " Daisy dau. Mar. 1885 age 15, " " " Cadir son Nov 1887 age 12 " " " George W. son Aug 1897 age 2 " " I think Doris has done all of us a great service. I, for one, am saving her work as excellent reference material. This George W. Kersey may be the son of Cader Kersey/Elisabeth (?), who appear in the 1860 Wakulla County, FL, federal census, Fork of Ocklockonee and Sopchoppy rivers, Newport post office, FHL microfilm 803109, p. 900. With them are listed the following children, all born in GA: Sarah, age 20; Ann, age 18; Mary, age 16; David, age 14; Amandy, age 12; and George, age 12. Ann, my great-great-grandmother, married Francis Marion Vause. Cader made a noncupative will around NOV 1867, and there later ensued a court battle between George S. Kersey, son of David E. Kersey, and Mary N. Kersey, David E. Kersey's widow (probably his second wife), when George S. Kersey apparently petitioned to vacate the sale of Kersey land. I don't have all the details on this soap opera sequence, but the records are probably in the Wakulla County Court of Probate files. Thanks for keeping me in mind. #17. William Harrison Kersey, b. Ohio 1810; father Samuel - from AllysonMT@aol.com
Top
Date: Wed, 31 Mar 1999 15:48:11 EST From: AllysonMT@aol.com Subject: William Harrison Kersey, b. Ohio 1810; father Samuel Marv and list -- I am fairly new to the Kersey list, and it has been great reading all the mail going back and forth. Regarding your recent discussion of photos and similarities, I am attaching a picture of one of my Kerseys. This is William Harrison Kersey, born 1810 in Marion or Muskingum County, Ohio, died abt 1898 in Illinois. William seems to have the same similarities as all of my Kersey folks, and I wonder if he fits with all of yours also. He was about 5'11", light brown hair, blue eyes, thin of frame, a long forehead, a sharp pointed chin, and high cheekbones. This William was the son of Samuel Kersey (born abt 1775 somewhere in one of the Original Colonies -- could be Virginia, could be Delaware). William's siblings were named Worthington, David Moses, Aaron, John, James, Samuel, Henry, Elizabeth, Sarah, Rebecca and Julia Ann. This is my first time attaching a photo, so I hope it comes through o.k. Wish me luck! Allyson Monroe Tilton
