I went to the local library and did a look up. At least I think that it was the same Kersey's. I remember them being from Ireland and that somewhere back in my husband's family the two lines of Buffum and Kersey crossed ( many many years ago ) . Thanks for the info. In today's Pensacola News Journal there is an obituary notice of a Mary Elizabeth Keyser Kierce 91 years old . Her survivors are: S. Charles Kierce of Texas, and a daughter Roslyn Kierce Cutts . She married Steiner Kierce in 1928. They lived all of thier married life in Northwest Florida. I never heard of the lady until I read the notice in the paper. It is possible that someone on the list might be interested. I will save the notice until I am sure that no one wants anymore info on it. Is everyone resting, or is everyone gone on vacation ? The list is very quiet. Doris

I am looking for the names of the parents of Deborah kersey, who married Jeremiah Burnham in March, 1796 in Farmington, ME. I have come across the name of a Joseph kersey who lived in the area of Strong, ME, where the daughterof Jeremiah and Deborah was born. This Joseph lived in Strong in the 1810 Census, but was in Readstown ME in 1800, having come from NH in 1793 with awife and four children. This Joseph sounds promising as the father of Deborah. Do you have any further information on the Joseph, b. abt 1740, in your Gendex record? I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. Maggie
