Date: Mon, 5 Jul 1999 20:10:06 EDT From: PETENOEL@aol.com Subject: Kersey-researcher ? Have any of you folks run across this researcher? I received a solicitation via E Mail this week......Pete Kersey. Subj: RE: Genealogical Research Service Date: 7/2/1999 10:52:22 PM Eastern Daylight Time From: cnrsmith@juno.com (robert smith) Hello, Please forgive this unsolicited e-mail. However, I would like to offer my services as a researcher in the University of Georgia archives. I do genealogical research on a single target or part-time basis, and am familiar with all the available materials. The university, as you might expect, has a wide range of genealogical materials including Soundexes, newspapers, and census records. The library also has many peripheral records relating to Georgia history. I can provide a summary of available materials on request. I ask the client to name their price for this service. A professional genealogist can cost in excess of $20/hour with stipulated minimum hours; my present clients pay less than half of that. I also operate mostly through e-mail and more often than not expect to research and e-mail results within 24 hours. I also mail hard copies of my target searches within 24 hours along with a summary of the search. I ask the client to pay only after they are satisfied with the product. Again, I apologise if this e-mail is unwanted, and I promise not to do any unsolicited follow-ups. I will, of course, answer any questions you may have about myself or the available material. Thanks for your time. Carolanne Smith

So far i have not found a link between my family and others on the kersey list. I would love to see if anyone else is related to my branch of the family or has any information on them. My grandfather's name is Dick Kersey. He had seven or more brothers and sisters, amoung them Jane, Billy Jack, and others. His father's name was George Washington Kersey. I have looked him up once or twice but have found little information on a George Washington Kersey and did not know if that was the right one or not. My family in Arkansas all live in the Fort Smith area. If you have any information on my relatives i would appreciate it greatly.

Martha Kersey Ford is the address I was going to look up. I am related by David Kersey who was the son of George Madison Kersey and Lucy Brock( his first wife). Martha and I have corresponded for years, but I have been pretty negligent in my correspondence since I got a computer. If you have any questions I can help you with e-mail me. Diana
