FAQs

Who is eligible?

Any student or group of students who wants to win $1,000 for their local library!

Can multiple students, or groups enter for the same library?

Yes.

Will the names of the winning student/students and library be published?

Every site that the trailer is posted to that allows a description will include the student/students’ names, and the name of the library (this does not include Amazon or other book sellers)

Where can I go to read the books?

The first book in the Goblin Wars series, Tyger Tyger, will be available as a free eBook in September. To read the second book, In the Forests of the Night  (in stores November 2011), fill out the Digital ARC (Advance Reading Copy) request form here.

Do I have to read In the Forests of the Night in order to create a trailer?

Yes. Digital Advance Reading Copies are available from the publisher for each group or student who will submit a trailer—just fill out the request form here.  If you are interested in using Tyger Tyger for more depth or information about the characters, it is now available in paperback wherever books are sold (or check your local library!), and will be offered as a FREE eBook for a limited time in September.

How will the winning trailer be chosen?

It will be voted on by viewers on my web page. Each person will only be able to vote once.

Does it need to look like the trailer for Tyger Tyger?

No, it can be completely different!  I want to see your vision of the perfect book trailer.

Why do we post the trailers on YouTube?

It is the easiest way for me to embed them in my blog for voting.

Where else will the winning trailer be posted?

It will be posted on my blog, on my Goodreads author profile, on Vimeo, and other book trailer sites, and while there is no guarantee that the trailer will be posted to Amazon’s In the Forests page, the publisher will submit it them and other online retailers.

Will the runners up be posted anywhere other than YouTube?

The runners-up will also be posted on my web page.

Who owns the copyright to the winning trailer?

The creators will retain the copyright, but must provide written permission for use of the trailer by the Kersten Hamilton.
