These two videos show opening a folding Karambit using what might be called a reverse inertia opening. This idea is for when there is a high probability that you may be attacked were it would be really nice to have your tool in hand with only a flick of the wrist to open it along with having your finger in the safety ring for protection against dropping your tool.
