Welcome to the official site of singer/songwriter Kim Davidson.

Howdy, kids.  Got a few more new tunes posted on the Music page.  Rough drafts as always.  Found another poem while searching the journals for a particular entry (which I still haven't found, but whattaya gonna do?), so that's posted on the Poetry page. Autumn has arrived, and I hope to drive the Kancamagus this season, as it's been a while.  Gotta drag out that Christmas quilt I started two years ago and get crackin' so that maybe I can actually USE it this season... Gonna do some recording (at an actual studio) soon, so be patient and the rough drafts will be replaced with shiny, sparkly real deals in the next couple months.  Be good, everyone.  Well, not TOO good...

Hey, you made it!  Welcome!  So, for those who have been with me all along, this is the third re-tooling of my site in the past two years... the "charm" as they say.  I'm diggin' it... simple, elegant.  I'm sure I can ruin the effect with a few choice words here... Nah--I'll give it a couple days!

So there are finally some sounds clips up.  We (STAMPEDE, the fabulous band I'm in) got some great stuff live at Tequila's a few weeks ago, which we're using on our new demo, so I posted a few clips here as well as at the band site.  I also had some requests before to put back the acoustic duo stuff from the first incarnation of this site.  Hey, you say "Jump!" and I say, "How high?"  They are back--and better than ever.  In fact, there are some clips I didn't even know I had that have been thrown up just because.  I mean, how many people do you know that have audio clips of "Angel From Montgomery," "Last Train To Clarksville," "Sex Type Thing" and "Zombie" on the same site being covered by the same person?  That's what I thought.  So you see that I HAD to.

There are, unbelievably, some of my originals up for a change, though (disclaimer alert!) they are ROUGH and just there to give you an idea of what's been floating around in my head.  I could have just posted the lyrics, but I figured having the music up there would put the pressure on me to get better recordings done already.  (Fred, where's that interface?  I totally forgot it the other night!)  So they are there.  Take 'em with a grain of salt.  The REALLY bad ones didn't get posted.  And I'm sad about that, because there are a couple songs I wrote recently that I really like, but the recordings have just been troublesome.  I'm working on it. Jeez!

I also threw up (pun intended after the fact--my finger was hovering over the backspace key for a few seconds there) some old Main Attraction clips just to keep it real.  If I have the time to do my on-line scrapbook the way I want, there will be old voice lesson clips and other scary things to keep me humble and amuse the masses down the road.  Keep checking back.

The poetry is back up, with a couple new pieces as well.  The Blog (courtesy of Angelfire/Lycos, my hosts) has been fairly active, so if you've got a burning need to know the inner workings of my twisted mind, that's a good place to start.

As far as other stuff... I'm gearing up for the fall/winter with STAMPEDE, looking forward to embarking on a solo acoustic venture finally... after all, any clubs with their own sound system are within my grasp, so what am I waiting for?  Exactly.  Hoping to make a full length album sometime this year.  Trying to scrape together the funds to make it to the TAXI Road Rally in November.  An electric guitar is in my future, and I'm definitely asking Santa for a violin, because really... it's just time.

Donations may be sent to.... (damn pen, always running out of ink!)

'Til the next time...  Peace y'all.
