Tactical and Radar algorithm development for US Navy F-14 aircraft.

DAMA Satellite communication software protocols for the Military.

F-14, 15, 16, B-1 and V-22 Simulation for real-time embedded systems.

USAF B-52 mission analysis, SW/HW development and flight test.

WORK History

Senior Software Engineer 3/2009 – Present TMI Huntsville, AL.

I am currently working at TMI in Huntsville, AL developing software for the Ballistic Missile Defense System BMDS Radar.  Duties include developing missile defense component models and radar return models and implementing real-time code for BMDS. I am working with ADA and C/C++ to DoD standards.  Hardware includes IBM x3950, Altix 450 and Mercury processors using Linux Red Hat OS and Microsoft Office applications.  I am supporting software and hardware integration and testing.  I am developing complex radar processing algorithms for a real time multi processor system.  My work includes several areas of software design, software development and integration/test.  I am providing technical writing support for requirements definition, design documentation, and test procedures.

Senior Software Engineer 4/2006 – 1/2009 Lockheed Martin.

I worked at Lockheed Martin Riviera Beach, FL and Moorestown, NJ.  I developed software for autonomous and remote underwater vehicles and the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Weapon System.  Worked with C/C++, Visual Studio.Net, OpenGL, Rational Clear Case and Microsoft Office applications to DoD standards.  Worked with embedded MVME6100 SBCs and PC-104 processors, Unix, VxWorks, and Linux OS.  Supported software and hardware integration and testing.  Developed 6 DOF algorithms for the placement and translation of vehicles for real-time simulation.  Developed TCP/IP software messaging with an Oracle database in multi threaded environment.

Senior Software Engineer 1/2006 – 4/2006 SEG, Mount Laurel, NJ.

I developed MS Visual C/C++ real-time embedded software for the APS‑143C maritime surveillance Multimode Radar program to Military standards. The assignment included analysis and implementation of Target Extraction and Tracker application software using Microsoft Visual Studio, PVCS CM tools.  The development system was Windows XP. The target OS was Wind River VxWorks.  The hardware was VME chassis with Motorola PowerPC processors.

Senior Software Engineer 7/2004 to 10/2005 Northrop Grumman, Baltimore, Maryland.

I developed real-time embedded Ada software for airborne Radar, AWACS. This was an upgrade that included new processors and several new peripherals.  My primary assignment was the Data Comm software, which provided data access between the main processors and the peripherals, (Antenna, Transmitter, TAC and Simulated targets HW).  The RTOS was VxWorks.  The development system was APEX on MAC-10 and PCs.

Senior Software Engineer 11/2003 – 7/2004 Raytheon Portsmouth, RI.

I developed Ada, C++, and CORBA real-time embedded software for the CCS Mk2 Submarine Combat Control System.  The assignment included analysis of systems requirements, software implementation and test of Harpoon Tactical Control and Weapon Launch Subsystems.  The development system was Rational APEX. The OS was UNIX, Redhat LINUX and MS Windows.

Senior Software Engineer  9/2002 – 8/2003 Honeywell, Phoenix, AZ

I developed MS Visual C/C++ real-time embedded avionics software for the Primus Epic program to FAA and DO-178B standards using Classes and Inheritance.  The assignment included analysis of systems requirements and software implementation of Graphical Flight Planning and FMS applications using Microsoft Visual Studio, OpenGL, and PVCS CM tools.  The development systems included UNIX and Windows NT operating systems. The target OS was DEOS, a Honeywell developed RTOS based on DLL architecture.  The hardware was Intel P-3 processors on a MAU chassis.

Senior Software Engineer 12/2001 - 4/2002 Indra, Oceana NAS, Virginia Beach, Virginia.

I developed C and Fortran software for a F14D Weapon Systems Trainer. This was a Flight Simulator Re-Host project.  Primary assignment was Tactical and Radar software, including management of ground and airborne threat algorithm development, 6 DOF aero and engine performance, target and missile tracking, Radar display, Visuals and IOS integration.  I supported executive functions, system utilities, UNIX Script development and I/O drivers. The development system was Linux on a Sun platform.  We used Green Hills Development Environment and Wind River, VxWorks and Tornado to see which worked best for us and settled on Wind River.  The new hardware was Motorola PowerPC on a VME chassis.

Senior Software Engineer 5/1999 – 10/2001 B/E Aerospace, Delray Beach, Florida

I designed real-time embedded software for commercial aircraft to FAA and DO-178B standards. Starting with developing top-level executive architecture, I coded, tested and integrated all required sub-functions.  Hand built hardware prototypes and implemented several software improvements.  I directed Software and Hardware engineers to support the development. I supported testing using LabView.  The system was based on an Intel 8051 MPU. The language was ”C” and assembly in a NT development environment using ICE and PROM programmers.
