Parker 51 Signet Barrel Dent Reversal

Signets (the all-gold-filled variety of the Parker 51) are often found with barrel dents. Parker 51 caps are a bit tougher because of the inner cap and cap clutch that give the cap shell a bit of added rigidity, but Signet barrels are not similarly reinforced. In addition to dents on the sides, they frequently have dimples and flat spots on the end from being dropped – another vulnerability absent from the ’51 cap.

There was an area on this barrel that I could not completely restore – just aft of the internal threads at the mouth. Other than that, I am pleased with the outcome; there were plenty of dents in addition to the ones visible in the pictures below, and I got ‘em all.
