Lighting Kit for Light Tents and Complete Kit with Cube Tent
If you've got one of Ron Zorn's pyramidal light tents (or another small tent), and you've been looking for a good-quality set of lights to compliment it, consider this lighting package I am making available. I am also offering a complete kit that includes a nice cube tent for those who are seeking such an arrangement.
I got one of Ron's tents, as well as a couple of other types, and I quickly realized that my various improvised lighting arrangements just weren't going to produce the quality or consistency of images that I was seeking. After quite a bit of searching, I finally put together a set of lights I am really pleased with. Unfortunately, the assemblage of components I arrived at was not available as a single product, so I convinced the manufacturer to make a package to my specifications that I am now exclusively offering.
The kit has no bells or whistles -- just the core components that are needed for bright, diffuse, controllable illumination when used with a light tent, and at a reasonable price. The kit consists of two sets of stands, sockets with cordsets, large aluminum reflectors, and it includes a pair of 5000K (daylight) compact spiral fluorescent bulbs for a total equivalent of 200 watts of incandescent output. The stands and reflectors are finished in black to cut down on unwanted reflections, and the stands' flat bases allow them to be placed very close to, or even under, a light tent for flexible positioning.
I am also making a complete kit available that includes the lights and a pop-up generously-sized (20") cube tent that provides more flexibility in choosing the angle and distance of your shots. The kit also includes white and black backdrops with clips for positioning the drops within the tent, as well as a small carrying case. The tent has one side with a removable panel; the panel also has a central zippered slit for poking through the business end of your camera while still blocking the reflection of your "I Brake for Fountain Pens" T-shirt.
