Testimonials

“You told me when I showed you my dinged GF ‘51’ cap that you weren't sure you could make it perfect, but when the pen came home I tried for some time, without success, to find the ding.  I know where it was, doggonnit, I even have a photograph of it, and I still can't find it; it's just not there anymore.  Thank you!  You, sir, are magic, and when I find somebody as good as you are, I tend to come back.  And to refer all my friends.” –Richard Binder

“I got the cap today.  I have to tell you, you get an A+++.  You did outstanding work, especially removing that deep long scratch.  Much better than I ever expected that it would come out. I am very happy. Thanks!!!” –Ernesto Soler

“It's the cap dents where you're a genius…Just opened your box and I'm really impressed…Back to your work on the dents in 51 caps: I sent you the absolutely worst caps I'd ever seen - incredibly hopeless cases” --Susan Wirth

“I just wanted to take a moment to rave about the work Daniel did on my Parker 51 Signet…it arrived earlier this week.  I am in shock.  It is far, far beyond what I hoped [he could] do with it.  Incredible… To say the pen was dented would be like saying the Grand Canyon is a divot.  The pen was mangled.  I received it as part of a multi-pen auction win, and had initially thought it would at best be a parts pen. I sent it to Daniel and in practically no time he had it looking almost new.  He fixed a crushed cap, dented barrel, squashed inner cap, and restored the blue diamond on the clip too. Fast, friendly, and professional- what more could you want?  I can't recommend Daniel highly enough.” –Greg McKinney

[Upon opening package containing restored Parker “51” Wedding Band cap:] “Ye gods! You on PayPal?” –David Isaacson

“I recently picked up a Parker 51 Signet for $20.  It was in horrible shape, but I figured it was worth that price just for the parts.  Anyway, I sent the pen to Daniel Kirchheimer expecting that there was nothing that he could do.  What he sent back to me is remarkable!  The miracles that he works on dent removal are beyond words. If you have a metal pen or cap that needs work, I can't recommend Daniel's services too highly.” –Dave Johannsen

“Well!!  The ‘pieces’ arrived today. You are a magician; and one with a twisted sense of humor.  You couldn't have made me happier; the pens, of course look great too…Love your work…So glad I found you.” –Ernie Drown

“You can imagine my surprise when I opened that package. All I can say is WOW!! A fantastic job. You are a master craftsman. I honestly can't imagine how you did it. (How many NOS caps do you have?) I'm really at a loss for words…Thanks again for a fantastic job.” –Ray Queen

“I met Daniel at the NJ show. After chatting I offered him work on a special (to me) metal pen cap (ala Parker 51's etc), which had a couple of the usual dings but also some problem dings at the very rim of the cap lip. These were severe enough (bending the rim lip inward) to cause serious pen scratches each time the cap was closed or posted. I received the cap back from Daniel less than one week after giving it to him. The cap is darn near to ‘like new’. It closes and posts smooth and straight, without any sign of the rim dings upon inspection. While this might not be the most challenging metalwork job, I was impressed by the work quality, professionalism and speed displayed by Daniel. Certainly he warrants consultation from folks with metal-trim problems on their vintage pens.” --David Isaacson

“I did not know a pen could look better than mint.  Daniel provided expert advice to a new collector to replate the ball on the clip of a Waterman 12PSF in an unnoticeable fashion. Furthermore, he polished the rest of the nib so that it looks like it just came from the factory.  Finally, and most surprisingly, he burnished the hard rubber and restored the color to the pen.  But he did not just do that, it literally shines and gleams in a manner I thought was not possible.  Even on the top of the cap the finish is such that my content, smiling teeth can be seen in reflection.  Many thanks, Daniel; I am simply astounded and very grateful....You have brought the vintage pen quest to new levels of possibility with your outstanding work.” –William Holmes

“This is simply amazing!  The most striking is the obvious ‘disappearance’ of the gouge in the Heirloom not to mention what I thought was a melt-down sterling cap. I'll put a check in the mail to you tomorrow and add you to my ‘Recommended’ list.” --Mike Neisler

“The pen just arrived. You did a beautiful job restoring the clip! When I have other pens in need of trim restoration in the future, I now know that you are the master.” --Lakis Akylas

It's super!… THANKS! BEAUTIFUL JOB. Everything looks great… Oh... and the Mont Blanc is terrific!” [brassed trim restoration] “I just got your pen. It's probably been sitting at the Post Office for a day or so. I think you did a terrific job. “I got the caps yesterday, and they look very nice. Initial inspection shows the plating to be very nice indeed, so nice in fact, that I will need to send the barrels of the 100 Year and the Balance to have you re-plate the levers.” --Kostas Kritsilas

“My Parker 51 cap and pen arrived yesterday with other pens you looked at.   Thank you for a great job.   It is hard to believe that this cap is the one I sent you; the cap looks beautiful and I will enjoy carrying the pen every day and using it.  The dents are gone, the diamond is refurbished, and the cap looks great.  I hope to recommend you when I have the opportunity.  Should I encounter another nice pen that needs such work, I know you can handle it expertly.  Thank you.” –David Dobson

Thanks again for your excellent work.”…“I had a significantly brassed Sheaffer Jade Flattop which I sent to Daniel for restoration. I just got it back and the man is a genius when it comes to restoring metal finishes on pens! The Sheaffer looked 100% better...and the work was accomplished quickly and at reasonable cost. I am in no way associated with Daniel except as a 'satisfied customer'...a term you don't hear very often these days!” --Dirik Lolkus
