| Align up all the timing marks before installing timing belt. This should be done with the engine at TDC. To get the engine to top dead center rotate the crank until the 0 degree timing mark on the crank lines up with the pointer on the idler pulley. Then make sure the knock pins on the cams are a aprox. 12 and 5 0'clock (intake to exhaust}and that the dimples in the cam gear line up with the marks on the inner timing belt cover. |
