This is a very small sample of some of the colors in the pointed pattern. Every color, every pattern and every variation can also come in the pointed pattern. Pointed cats get darker as they age and some examples of this are shown at the bottom of the page.

Black Pointed (Seal Point)

Seal is a designer word for genetic black that was popularized by the Siamese breeders and remains in use in North America today when referring to a black point. The darkest color on a black point is often not a deep rich black but a very dark brown instead. Because of this, black points are often mistaken for chocolate points. In cases where the true color is suspect, it pays to know the genetics of the parents and grandparents behind the kitten and to understand the basic rules that govern recessive and dominant genes.
