Ever thought about giving your sweet little furball a bath? Are they really that clean all covered in cat spit? It can be done! First you may want to find the best place to bathe kitty. We prefer to use our bath tub which has a sliding door so kitty can not escape. This also limits the amount of wetness that will incur from this wonderful experience! Also, expect to get yourself a bit wet so a bathing suit always comes in handy. Lots of towels too! Having a shower head on a long hose attachment makes for spraying kitty a bit easier too as they do not always sit still for you. You should fill the tub with a bit of water prior to carrying kitty in there. the sound of running water will probably scare kitty and make it hard for you to retrieve her from under the bed! If that happens then give up for the time being. Tubs can be slippery so having those non slip decals on there may help keep kitty from sliding all over the place. Make sure you have a gentle shampoo and conditioner. Always start up by the head and work your way down. Be very careful not to get any in kitties eyes or you may be running for the bandaids! Many people do not realize that fleas can drown with water alone so they will be running for it. This is why you should always start at the head. You want to make this as quick and easy as possible. Not too much shampoo and conditioner or kitty may get too excited from all the rinsing and relieve herself in the tub. Too much shampoo can dry out their skin too. So now that the walls, ceiling and yourself have had a shower you need to grab some towels and gently towel dry kitty. I find that laying towels down on the floor before hand helps when kitty tries to run from you. I also recommend having the bathroom door shut to prevent escapes. After you have slipped into some dry clothing, retrieve kitty and a blow dryer. Make sure the setting is on low and hold far enough away as to not burn their skin. Brush their hair as you dry. This task is successful if you have an extra hand. Now your kitty is all beautiful and smelling good! You can then reward them with a special treat and they will soon forgive you.
