Has your cute little furball started urinating all over your TV? Maybe the couch or your bed? How about the curtains? Well, there are many reasons why your precious kitty may have started doing this!

REMEDIES:

First and most important, take your cat to the doctors immediately to make sure there is no medical reasoning behind it! This is so important! If your cat has a urinary problem, as one of ours had, your kitty can die within days if not sooner! Dont assume its not! Check it out! It may save his life!

If your cat comes out with a clean bill of health thats great! Next, how clean is your cat box? Do you scoop it everyday? If you dont then you can blame yourself and not kitty! Clean that stinky box! Would you like to have to step on all those poops??? Hmm???? Would you like to come out with wet feet all the time??? Remember this, if your cat has to step on all this yucky stuff and then walks across your bed or pillow at night, its not very healthy now is it.

Ok, so your box is clean. Do you have more than one cat? Are they sharing the same box? You should have at least one box per cat. We always have one extra, just in case! This does not mean you can let the boxes go longer between cleanings either.

Are your boxes big enough for your big kitty? Most cats generally will not pee and poop within 6 inches of each present, therefore if your box is too small, it may be time to get that extra box or enlarge your box. Maybe kitty wont overshoot the box either.

Still have a problem. Well, have you tried a different cat litter? Some cat litters hurt there little toes. Some cat litters go up their noses and they dont like that. plus that can be very dangerous if its clumping litter. Think about it. Try this test. Buy three different types of litter and see which one they prefer! We did this test and they opted for the cheapest and best smelling one of the three! The cedar scented one. Big bag for just over 3 bucks at Shaws supermarkets! Also good for repelling fleas.

Is the box located in a quiet and private area? We chose to put a kitty door leading down to our basement so they can come and go as they please and if there is ever any poopy smell it wont travel through the house as much! make sure the hole is big enough for them to easily fit through ot they may not go through it and find your closet more convenient!

If all fails and you have a very securely fenced in backyard then try letting kitty run around out there to pee. It may be all she needs. We found this was a cure for one of our kitties. But make sure she can not get out and nothing else can get in!

Tip: If you find your cat box is abnormally wet all the time this may be a hint to get that kitty to the vets! Dont second guess on potential urinary medical problems. Rule it out first!

Tip: If you use the clumping litter, look for dust content. If this gets up your cats nose it will harden and then poor kitty can not breathe! makes sense doesnt it!

Tip: Heavy scents and deodorants in your cats litter can deter kitty from using the box. Remember, they'd prefer to pee out the the woods if they had their own choice.
