~Drew Pickles~

This is Drew Pickles. Jamie gave him his first name and Amber gave him his last name. His last name is after our good friends we call "The Pickles". No relation to the pickles on the Rugrats. Drew came into our family in November 2002. Many thought we were crazy with so many cats but every kid sooner or later has to have a hamster. Drew doesnt get picked up because we tried twice already. He drew blood from Jamie the first time. Our mom got brave and went to pick him up and within a split second, the red was gushing from mom's finger. Now we just watch him through his cage. Plus he really is cute. He loves his wheel. He will run for hours at a time. Drives our cats absolutely crazy...and of course occasionally us too at night when we are trying to sleep.

Now to plan my escape...

Aint I a cutie!

Drew must have nine lives! Recently our mom awoke to a noise downstairs only to find that Drew was sitting outside his cage ontop the table his cage sits on. He apparently chewed a whole in his wheel, he escaped down to the floor, ran through the house (we'll tell you how we know this in a sec), got back on top the table his cage sits on and was sitting there looking up at our mom with a huge mouth full of cat food!!!! Two of our cats were sitting below just staring at him! How he made it past them to the cat bowls in the other rooms and back without being our kitties midnight snack, we have no idea!!!

He loves running around the house in his ball. He has a dragster but he cant take corners very well with it.

Occassionally there are a few spectators....

11/9/04 Bad news...We were heading out to the bus this morning and Drew was sleeping in a place he normally doesnt sleep. We gently tapped on his cage. He took a deep deep breathe, let it out and guess he couldnt hang on. We wish hamsters lived longer but guess it was time for him to go torture a few of our furballs in heaven. We'll miss you Drew. You were lots of fun to watch in your ball and mini dragster!
