Caracals are found in the dry, grassy, semi-desert regions of Asia and
Africa.

They usually have large or tufted ears which it uses to detect sounds made by prey and for communication. The tufts of fur can grow up to 4 inches.Head and body measure up to 3 feet with the tail adding another 12 inches. They can weigh up to 40 pounds.  They have strong legs and agile bodies.

Their menu consists of rodents, rabbits, mongooses, small antelopes, domestic animals, birds, reptiles and insects.  Birds make up most of the Caracal's diet, raiding nests at dusk. It can leap remarkably high, catching birds in mid-air with a powerful leap!

Trained caracal's were used in India and Iran to stalk many types of birds and rabbits.They hunted alongside humans, answering calls and following directions.
