The Chinese Desert Cat is about the size of a domestic cat. It is
yellowish-brown in color, with darker fur on its back. The pads of
their paws are covered in thick protective hair, but not as thick and
profuse as the sand cat. They have short tufts of hair about 4/5 in
(2 cm) coming off the tips of their ears. They also have large auditory
canals in their ears, which suggests that they use their sense of hearing
to catch their prey. Their tail is ringed with three or four dark bands.
The Chinese Desert Cat eats small mammals like rats and rabbits, as well
as birds.
