The Tiger is the biggest and most powerful of all cats. The tiger is now endangered with few populations clinging to survival in a few parts of Asia. There are an estimated 3000-5000 remaining Tigers in the wild. Once at 100,000 in the 1920's. They live in tropical forests, evergreend forests, swamps, grasslands and savanna. Caspian, Javan and Bali tigers became extinct in the 1940's. Their are only 5 subspecies remaining in the world.

The Tigers head and body measure up to 9 feet 2 inches with a tail up to 3 feet 1 inch. They weigh in up to 565 pounds!

Diet consists of deer, wild pigs, buffalo, antelope and wild oxen. Tigers hunt at night. Prey is spotted by sight or sound rather than smell. A Tiger will often hide at a water hole to pounce its prey. They are excellent swimmers and often cool off in a pool or river.

They have one or more dens in hollow trees, caves and dense vegetation. The tigers biggest fear is the ignorant MAN with a gun! Throw away the gun and see who wins! Lets not lose any more tigers! Stop the hunting!
