To work the AO51 plan your contact.Begin by going to
and download SATSCAPE;its a free program;up date the elements after you
have installed it.This is the tracking program that will show you the passes.
Watch the AO51 as it passes to see where you can best hear it.In order to
work the AO51 you must have 2 meter and 440 as well.The uplink for
AO51 is 145.920 with a 67hz tone;the downlink is 435.300.After you have
decided where you can best hear the satellite get set up for it as you see it
come into the horizion. As the satellite gets closer the noise
floor begins to drop as this happens you will begin to hear the satellite.
Remember to open the squelch all the way up.As you hear the satellite
begin calling CQ CQ DE (your call) I usally do this about 3 times then i listen.
Try to copy all the calls that answer you and try to reply.If you have made
proper plans you will have no problem working the AO51 Satellite.Copy
all call signs and send a QSL card to each one that you copied.You can find
the addresses on QRZ;most will send you a card back.GOOD LUCK!
