HandAdoptionHand

Our family has been greatly blessed by the gift of adoption. We have become enthusiastic advocates of all types of adoptions, though domestic ones will always have a special place in our hearts.

Adoption

Jamie Lee Curtis on whether it take a special person to extend themselves and offer a child a home:

"No. I don't look at us as being special people. I look at us as being parents who, for whatever reason, have chosen to adopt. I look at all parents as special. I respect all people who dedicate their lives to their children. I just don't think that adopting a child is any more heroic than giving birth to a child.

"If anything is heroic, I believe the hero is the young mother who chooses to go through childbirth and who respects that human life and understands that it would be impossible to care for the child. Carrying it to term, and then placing that child in someone else’s arms and saying, `I trust you with the life of my child.' That to me is a hero and someone who is special."

Infertility & Miscarriage

You ask, “How are you doing?” and I reply, “I’m fine."
But, inside my mind is screaming…those words are just not mine.
But, I thank you so for asking, it is difficult…I know.
As I’m sure the pain is evident…you know I love her so.
Every crevice of my being, every corner of my soul
is filled with longing…aching, that will never cease…I know.
Yet, I know I will get better…my heart will heal with time.
It will never be whole again, but…yes, I will be fine.
The pain will dull as time goes by with the help from God above…
We have so much in common…He has the one I love.
My faith in Him sustains me for He does so much you see…
He sends her love down to me…it surrounds me endlessly.
Someday we will be reunited in the Heavens up above…
Someday God will rejoin us with the child that we love.
